Summary: Neat tool, but not for me.
Comment: The item description says: "Universal Bit Holder . . . clamps on all common bits . . ." This tool will not clamp on the most common bits, the ones with round shanks. A Bosch representative was helpful when I called. I was advised that there is an adapter (Skil item # 921-70) that will allow use of round shank bits up to 1/4 inch. The reviews I read of the adapter do not include any experience using it with the PS21-2A, and were not encouraging. This tool is impressive, both as to size and power. The chuck mechanism is easy to use. But, for someone with a large investment in round shank drill bits, it's not for me. It should be fine for driving screws. I may get the PS31-2A, which is a little larger and uses round shank bits. If this tool accepted round shank bits, I would have rated it higher.

Summary: Great if you get a good one
Comment: I had to go through 2 of them. Bought first one locally and had problems switching between speed ranges - range "1" didn't seem to engage completely on the first one. Even though it seemed to work the switch wouldn't move all the way into position comparing to range "2".
That being said it is as advertised - compact, light, powerful and versatile.
It is not really feasible to use as a drill IMO because even if you get a drill bit that fits it still wobbles too much. No stars is subtracted for this, it is not really advertised as a drill.

Summary: After a few weeks, this tool has proved its value
Comment: I purchased the Bosch PS21-2A pocket driver a few weeks ago as I am in the middle of a huge garage project. I had been using my cordless drill for screwing tasks but I found this was less than adequate because 1) it was too big to fit into several spaces, 2) if I wanted pilot holes, it became a paint to keep switching the drill bit and the screw bits.
When i first got this, I was not thrilled about the collet. While it only takes a second to change a screw bit, there is a slight wobble. When you get something new, you want everything to be perfect. However, I found that even with a 3-inch long screw bit, the wobble doesn't actually cause any problems in operation.
The tool has four attributes that I think make it especially good:
1) Size. This is small enough to fit into the smallest of spaces.
2) Power. I can easily drive 3 1/2" screws and this doesn't show any signs of struggle. It is incredible to see such a small, battery-powered tool be able to perform with such force.
3) Battery Life. I can use this an entire day and never have to change the battery.
4) Collet. While I am not thrilled with the slight wobble, it is more than compensated by the easy in changing screw bits.
If you are looking for a pocket driver, you really can't go wrong with this one!

Summary: Best tool for household use-- and then some

I agree with all of the points of previous reviewers. Having owned an older Bosch drill/driver with dying batteries, I bought this. It has thus far lived up to my expectations--
- Very compact; gets into small areas where I could never get to before (such as between studs),
- Its light weight makes it much less tiring to drill overhead
- LED lamp is a great improvement over previous model
- Impressive power and torque-- as good or better than my older, bulkier driver.
The only point which prevented me from giving five stars is the looseness of the chuck. Causes bits to wobble, but not unacceptably for me. This could be worked around by chucking a secondary quick-change adapter and wedging it into the chuck with a hardwood or plastic strip.
Getting ready to buy the companion PS31 for use with any kind of bit!

Summary: More than I expected
Comment: I wish that the prior writers could have reached out and hit the buy button. I agonized over this purchase for several months since my cordless drill did what this does. Well, just buy it! This has more power than needed. Lighter feel than the numbers tell you and weight is not needed to drive a screw. It fits where a full size screwdriver won't. Easy to switch heads but will not let them go while working. This is the best tool purchase in years and I buy a LOT of tools (just don't tell my wife!). Made me think of the the old advertisement: This ain't your father's cordless screwdriver...
